Combine Brick-and-mortar with Click-and-mortar

Whether it’s a STIHL PowerChord website or an independent site created for you by a local business, there’s one absolute truth about websites that too many people ignore — you get out of it what you put into it. Ignore your website and it will pretty much ignore you.

Your business is “local.” You could care less if a homeowner in Bora Bora knows where you are. What you need, then, are local avenues to establish your website. Then, once your website is easy for local consumers to find, the site will start paying for itself.

Here are some very simple, common sense things you can do to put your website to work.

. Add your website address (your domain name) to all company literature:

  • business cards
  • invoices
  • stickers
  • envelopes

Never print anything — a flyer, a newspaper ad, anything — that doesn’t have your website domain on it!

Customize your PowerChord website to attract online visitors. And don’t forget to announce upcoming events on your PowerChord website in your Store News area.

Mail out a letter or flyer announcing your STIHL/PowerChord website

Include flyers with shipments and in-store customer’s shopping bags

Add your PowerChord website address to your e-mail signature

Request links from other website which you are a member:

  • Chamber of Commerce
  • Business Organizations
  • Merchant’s associations
  • Trade Associations
  • Local web directories

Make Sure your Business is registered with "Google Local" Click to learn more. It's a free, easy way to make sure that your business appears whenever anyone does a local Google search.

A Little Effort Really Pays Off

Dealers who use their website in local promotions; who create links from their primary website to their PowerChord site; and who register the URL with regional and community online Business directories see more than five times as many visitors to their site and receive several inquires a week that can be directly traced to their PowerChord site.

A recent survey showed that of retailers who had an online web presence…

63% had website information on the store receipt
50% posted it on the retailer's main door
38% at the cash wrap
25% on shopping bags

Important!

If you have a primary business website separate from your STIHL PowerChord site, make sure that your main website links to PowerChord and that your PowerChord website links to your main site.

The address your website links should point to is the PowerChord URL shown in your welcome/renewal letter.
PowerChord allows web visitors to research STIHL products and DSRP pricing (if you choose to make pricing available). Let your potential customers make their buying decisions from a web page branded with YOUR DEALERSHIP INFORMATION, including your phone number and email address. Why on earth would you send potential customers anywhere else?

If you have questions about your domain name, customizing your PowerChord site, or linking your PowerChord site with your company website, or any other issue, call Connie Bennett at 573-238-2675 ext 255.
